Global Care Day 22 is HERE!!!!!!

Posted 18th February 2022

Care Day is a global celebration (and the world’s largest celebration) of the successes and achievements of children and young people with experience of care. It takes place on Friday 18 February this year and it will be the 7th annual Care Day! We want a world where children and young people who have overcome adversities are proud of themselves, their achievements and look forward to a future of opportunity, equality and equity. Care Day is a moment for children, young people and adults to unite in celebrating the rights and resilience of care experienced children and young people, their stories and their achievements. Although the global  theme this year is: It takes a village to raise a child”.

Midlothian has been working on Lighthouses as a way of showing their solidarity, support and raising awareness of their community. Check out what they have created.

Even though Sue is fully in control of this decision-making process - something our young people often are not - the transition has still been discombobulating; letting go of something she enjoys and that has defined her, and moving on to something that will be incredibly rewarding and joyous.
