1 YEAR ON!!!!!

1 YEAR ON!!!!!

Posted 24th September 2021

We can’t quite believe it’s been a year since Midlothian House Project took off.  We are reflecting and super proud of the achievements of the project and particularly our members and community.

We started off the project in the midst of COVID and have overcome most of the challenges this threw our way.  Our young people have managed to create such a supportive community despite only meeting a few times face to face as a group.

All of our 9 young people now have their own homes and have begun their journeys having a solid base and  homes they have created.  Our partners from Midlothian housing to our heroes in our steering group having been invaluable throughout.

So here we are nearly ready to recruit our second group of young people and we are beyond excited to have more young people help produce our House Project.  We will be having some well-deserved celebrations to acknowledge our achievements and celebrate our successes from our first group.

Not only did they address the conference but they got to hear from Local House Project staff and young people on how they are working together to improve the way in which young people leave care and how this meets the commitments made in The Promise in 2020.
