Sophie has the keys to her home

Sophie has signed her permanent tenancy with Midlothian council housing, she has been waiting patiently while planning for this day since she joined Midlothian House Project in 2022 as part of Cohort 3 of care experienced young people.  She has already started painting her living room in preparation for moving in.  There is lots of hard work but exciting times ahead in the next few weeks with her house project family to support her.

In a landmark event to mark the 10th anniversary of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, Who Cares? Scotland hosted its first ever Corporate Parenting Awards, celebrating achievements of organisations dedicated to supporting Care Experienced young people. The event in Glasgow recognised outstanding contributions across several categories, with East Dunbartonshire and Midlothian House Projects winning awards in three areas.
